Glow Worm

No this is not the toy you all think it to be. Peter is the little glow worm. His Bilirubin levels elevated again today so a company brought out his bili-blanket. It's a fiber optic light that we put between his clothes and his skin to reduce his bilirubin levels (basically it glows and it appears that he is glowing, although he really isn't). He must be on this as much as possible. Basically, we can't just hold him for fun right now. We should only be taking him off the blanket for 20 minutes to feed and then also to change and bathe him. Tomorrow we go for another lab test. The doctor said we can take him off the blanket when his levels are down around 12. Today his level was 16.9, we do not want this level to reach 20, that's when he'll have to go to the hospital for light treatment. Please be praying for this level to drop, quickly!

Congrats to Rich and Jenn on the birth of their Triplets! All Girls!!!

I wouldn't sweat it much. This is a common thing and minus a few RARE genetic disorders, it never results in long term sequelae. Enjoy your new baby.

Nice post about the blanket. You really gave me a laugh but I hope that everybody prays for it to go fast. Love,
Ashley
I am praying that this goes away soon. I love Peter very much. I know you love Peter and want to be able to hold him. So I will be praying for you and Peter.

I'm praying the levels will go down so you won't have to go to the hospital!
