Tonight Seth and I took Peter to see the fire engines. Kyle, my cousins husband, is a full-time firefighter at our local department. Peter enjoyed seeing the trucks, holding a hose, and getting to ride around the building in a truck. Peter was given a badge, hat, coloring book, and tattoos. Seth and I enjoyed learning about what all the trucks do and quite a bit about the community as well. Such as, they rarely go on fire calls. Most of them are medical or car accidents (some with car fires.) We learned the boundaries for the department and what the fire station is working toward in the future to ensure the safety of our community!
Here are a couple pics from our time there.

Peter listening intently to Kyle as he explains what this trucks special job is!

After the Fire Truck ride, where the siren accidentally went off...oops!
Peter also dressed in a fire suit, and Kyle was just getting his on, when the alarm sounded and they had to leave for a call. Peter loved watching them leave, turn on the lights, and then later (when they got to the road) turn on the sirens!
After the Fire Station, we went to get Peter a balloon. There was a mishap with his earlier in the day where the wind took the one he had gotten a few days ago. He cried for a solid 20 minutes. I felt so bad for him. If anyone finds a red star balloon in their yard...it's Peter's!
