52 Weeks :: Week 3

I gave you all a little hint on my Facebook page as to what I was working on. If you read a post or two of mine you know that I was knitting something last week. You also know that I was knitting 'in the round' which is a term to describe a circular project.

Drumroll Please.....

I'm not a photographer (neither is my hubby in this case) and I am not a person to touch up photos well, either. So my pictures are not going to be professional.

On with the show :: can I have that drumroll again?.......

I knitted a cowl neck scarf!

It was a lot of work but so worth it! I looked at a couple different tutorials on Pinterest but settled on a site I found at yahoo! answers.

And I guess the idea didn't really originate at pinterest because my sister asked if I could figure out how to knit one. Apparently, they get quite pricey in the store?!!?

Here's a picture that Peter took of me!

Isn't this a great scarf! I plan to make one for my sister who asked me to figure out how to make it, and probably one for her friend!

What I learned :: How to Knit in the round with circular needles! AND...My arms are not made for knitting all day!

Since the idea above was not a true pinterest project I will also tell you a cleaning technique I found on Pinterest and one that actually worked for me!

Sorry there is no actual before picture. Maybe I was skeptical or just too excited to try but either way the only before pic is one with kids heads and is not a close up.

Fact is, this stain was a complete eye sore to me. I truly hated that stain for being there. It made my house look extra dirty even after cleaning really well. There was no way to cover it permenantly (like with a piece of furniture).

I stumbled upon the magic potion of vinegar, dish soap and warm water! Works wonders!

What I learned :: Cleaning supplies can be found in basic household items!

Love this idea by the way, and the scarf came out really nice. I might have to try to make one for next winter!

you can use a vinegar and water solution to clean just about anything around the house - cheap and effective
