Baby Gifts!!!
My cousin and his wife are due in December with their first child! We had a baby shower for them yesterday and my sister did a fantastic job organizing and planning this shower all by herself!
For the gift from me I decided to make Baby D. something! Pinterest is a great source for all-things-baby tutorials!
(the burp cloths I made are not from any tutorial. My sister-in-law showed me how to make them.)
PROPS:
The idea for the baby blanket came from here but because I was working with Minky material I tweaked the design!

I just realized I never responded to you...I'm so sorry for that.
I had heard some horror stories about Minky so didn't really want to use it but I fell in love with it when I felt the material. When I looked up tips online they kept saying to buy a special walking foot for the machine. Well, I didn't want to go buy one so I found a different way. Don't let the Minky touch any part of the machine! I cut the cotton fabric 2 inches longer on each side of the minky so that I could fold it over. This way it made a nice boarder on the back AND the only material that touched my machine was the cotton! It worked well.
Maybe next time I'll brave it and try to sew touching the material.
Hope this helps!
