Six Years :: House to Home

It's hard to believe we moved into our house six years ago today. I remember the day quite well. We had a great time moving all of our things from my parents home to our house. My grandpa helped with the tractor and trailer, which hauled all of our belongings.

Family helped by getting boxes into appropriate rooms, the men brought in the furniture, Seth's cousin Dave helped put in the appliances while Christy (Dave's wife) and I cleaned windows and organized a few things. Seth's parents and my parents both helped with the move. We, also, had our first visitors; Dan and Heather came to welcome us (Dan was our builder).

In the past six years we have made this house a HOME!

Projects: bridge to my parents, finishing the basement (minus the drop ceiling), landscaping, deck addition, building of storage holders, and probably many more!

Fun: Can you say SLIP'N'SLIDE?!?!?!, Starting the Labor Day Festivities tradition, entertaining a family game night with my dad's side of the family, enjoying having friends over, my 30th Birthday Celebration!!

Planting: We have planted many pines and three maples in our yard. This past December we also planted a Redwood tree and a Sequoia.

Family Growth: We have filled this home with 3 wonderful children, a dog (who came to the house with us), and have had two housemates! Our, now, brother-in-law was only dating my sister when he moved in but he stayed with us a little while. We then welcomed Claudia in mid-2008 and she continues to live with us and be a part of our family (and always will be!).

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post on this particular entry but you can see the house being built here, here, here, and here. You can also just search through our archives from September 2006 to January 2007 and see and read a lot more.

We look forward to many more years here!
