After an appointment we, as a family, headed into town to do some grocery shopping. The kids were good, obedient; I was one proud momma! We only had to speak to one child one time. Then came came check-out. Seth went to grab one more thing and I started through the line.
I'm one of those people that looks for my wallet early so that I don't hold the line up later. Omigosh...where was my wallet? Thankful for transaction suspension, I patiently waited for Seth to arrive at check-out to wait with the kids while I went to the car to check for the missing wallet. I get to the car and Seth calls, Aaron was lost. I frantically look for the wallet, lock the car and run back inside looking for Aaron (because most likely he tried to follow me out...to the parking lot...gasp).
As I walk through the doors I see Seth holding a crying Aaron. He had tried to follow me outside but got held up between the automatic doors when he found I wasn't there.
But the wallet was still missing. I check my purse one more time and there it was, right under the extra pairs of underwear I carry for the twins. Silly purse is just too big!
Aaron fell asleep on the way home, ate a good lunch, and is now watching a movie on the iPad. Aaron steals my heart over and over. He is my sensitive child, my clingy child, my persistent child. This kid makes me laugh and cry all in a matter of minutes. He is always guaranteed to bring a smile to my face!
I love all my kids equally but when something like this happens (even just as small of an incident as this was) God shows me how I love them all so differently and for who they are. Each one steals my heart, just in different ways.
