Ask Away Saturday: School Papers/Projects

Since September (when Peter started Preschool) I have found my house to be decorated at all times with lovely projects and papers and the sort. It's on doors, the fridge, the walls. I have filed some away in the awesome organizer I made for his school years.

My question(s) though: What do you keep? What do you throw? How long do you keep it? How do you deal with the kids getting attached to their work and getting upset if you say it has to go?

I am a person who thinks everything is great and important, especially when done by my child. But how do I keep from becoming a hoarder of all things my kids have done? How do I stop something that hasn't gotten out of control yet; but, knowing myself, could, and very possibly WILL, get out of control?

I think it might be good to keep most things until the end of the school year. Then you and Peter can go through the paperwork together and see what he wants to keep and what you want to keep. You could do this at the end of each school year and keep pulling things out from previous years to see if he still wants them. Clearly I'm not at that stage yet, but it's just a thought.
