Growing Boy

Peter is growing, growing, growing these days. His pants are getting short, his sleeves are getting short, and he'll probably need new shoes in the next couple months.

He isn't feeling well, today. He told me last night his ear hurt so I gave him some meds. It was hurting him again this afternoon so I did more meds. He then fell asleep, which he never does on an afternoon anymore; when he woke up I took his temp and it was 101.0*. This is very unusual for him but I got him some ear numbing drops and will continue to push fluids and administer meds. Hopefully, this will go away on it's own.

He is loving school and talks about it freely, for the most part. He really enjoys going outside for recess and time in the discovery area. They have iPads for the kids to practice writing and drawing shapes. I was a little worried about how he fit in with the other boys, this was because there were 5 boys and because Peter was so shy in the beginning didn't form an instant bond with any of them. This caused 2 sets of 2 friends and Peter, I felt, was just on the outside of these groups. After holiday break, though, a new boy joined the class and Peter talks about what he and his new friend did on any given day. This makes my heart happy.

I can't wait to see how he continues to grow in the next few months. He is registered for Kindergarten and I really hope we get our first choice of school. This would be the year round elementary that would allow for more consistency in his schedule reducing any anxieties he might have from starting a new year, every year.

God is growing him, in many ways! I love having a front row seat to this!
