...a tired house.
Today, Abigail had an Ophthalmology appointment with a doctor who is very difficult to get into. We have been going to this office for just over 18 months. Abigail has been wearing glasses since that first appointment because of a condition in her left eye called Duane Syndrome. Today's appointment was with a doctor we have seen only two other times. We normally see another doc in the office.
Today's doctor (who specializes in eye surgery) was to determine if she would be a candidate for surgery or if there was something else going on. Thankfully, he did not use the word surgery once! He did, however, determine that on top of Duane Syndrome the left eye is also lazy.
Abigail had been saying that she wasn't able to see out of her glasses and she was right (I thought is was her just not wanting to wear the glasses...oops!). She received a new prescription and we have to patch the right eye one hour a day with the glasses on. We will review in 4 months with this same doctor.
The appointment was scheduled for 2:15pm. We went back around 2:35pm. The doctor didn't come in until 3:25pm. We were out the door at 4:00pm. A long time, nonetheless, for three kids, myself and my driver (Thanks a bunch Dad V!).
Dinner tonight was leftovers and mac and cheese! I'm going to finish it off with a salad.
