Adventures In Gardening: A Summer Series

In an attempt to make my blog more interesting I'm going to start this Summer series.

To be posted on most Fridays, I will show you all how an amateur gardener succeeds {or fails} through the summer. Tips and Tricks learned along the way and things I will do to better my garden for next year.

Left: planters with tomatoes and peppers
Top Right: The whole garden
Bottom Right: Raspberries are forming!

This week in gardening I was able to get my veggies planted. This year I am planting tomatoes, green and red peppers, jalepeƱo peppers, squash (yet to be planted due to space), cucumbers, and raspberries. You might remember my post a while back about the raised garden bed I made with my father-in-law. It didn't hold as much as I thought {that's the amateur in me} so I had to substitute with planters. Luckily, I had nine on hand from last year. Although I planned to plant them with flowers this year, I guess it'll have to wait. We'll see how these grow since there isn't a lot of room for roots to grow {trial and error}!

How to better for next year: make at least two more raised beds. {I plan to expand my garden a little each year}

Coming up next week: A DIY Cucumber Trellis and explanation of watering system.

We noticed several strawberries coming in, they're much bigger this year than last year! We can't wait! I hope your gardening goes well! :)
