Thankful Thursday: "Skyscrapers" in my town

I live in a town, not a city. We don't have skyscrapers but rather old fashion buildings built in the late 1800's. We have a Farmer's Elevator, that is still in operation, that I believe is the tallest part of my town (the water tower might be taller but that was built less than 20 years ago).

When I drive down my street, I see this staple of my town above the trees. It helps me to know my town is still "small". We are growing, and growing, and growing some more; but I'm thankful for this skyscraper that represents the town that it once was and shows the future and what we hope this town will remain to be.

I live in a bigger city now, but I come from a very small town where the biggest building is also the grain elevator. There's something comforting about seeing those old structures and knowing everything they've endured.
